After another three weeks of almost incessant rain, the situation in Chennai has deteriorated. Omega has been sending us updates and photos, and we are relieved to hear that all the children are safe.

Despite Annie and Martin being flooded out of their own home, Annie, Martin and Omega and their families have been giving practical aid to villagers near to the Bethel children’s temporary home, many of whom have lost all their belongings to the flood water.

Despite this, Annie is giving to people less fortunate than she is. That's why we love her!

Both Annie and Omega have said this flooding is, in many ways, worse than the Boxing Day Tsunami. It is spread over a wider area, and over a long period of time. There are difficulties with the supply of power, food, and fresh water, and there is nowhere to escape to. We thought we would let these pictures tell something of their story. If you can help us help them you know that, with India Direct, every penny will directly change lives.
