We are delighted to welcome Mark Johnson to our trustee body! His energy, and enthusiasm for supporting the projects in India have already brought some real improvements to India Direct through his role as a volunteer, and we are really pleased he has been able to make the commitment to become a trustee.

The Charities Commission published a report in 2010, showing that only around 0.5% of trustees in the UK are aged under 25, so we know we are lucky to have Mark on board.

Mark got involved with India Direct aged 16, through the PHS India Project. He has travelled to India twice with Helen and the PIP team, as a student in 2011 and then again this summer, switching to the role of young leader with confidence and a sense of humour.

Having a new trustee is a good opportunity for a rethink of roles, too, and so most of us are taking on different responsibilities. To find out more about who is doing what, take a look at the “about us section”
