India Direct at Work
Providing HOPE for some of India’s poorest people…
India Direct is a UK charity working in partnership with the Love and Care Charitable trust of South India. Our aims are to relieve poverty, provide education and show the practical love of Jesus.
Our main activities are…
- The financing and running of two children’s homes for orphaned and destitute children
- Providing education and healthcare for all the children in our care
- Opportunities for further education and training for jobs for children in our homes
- To support widows and their children in their own community
- One-off projects to meet specific needs (e.g. free one-off medical day-care, assistance with setting up small businesses)
We make a difference! Children come to us hungry,
in need of medical care and with little or no education.
When they come to us, children receive good, nutritious meals, clothes, education and they have a lot of fun! They live in bright, spacious children’s homes in a family-style environment.

Why choose us as your charity?
We are a small charity based in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
100% of the money you give goes directly to India to help some of the poorest people. We make a huge difference with few resources. India Direct is run entirely by volunteers – no salaries (only minimal admin expenses - taken from Gift Aid). Our work is targeted at needs identified by our Indian partners. We make regular trips to India/England ensure accountability, which we fund ourselves, not from the charity.
