June was a busy time for India Direct, with a month long visit from Pastor Martin. We were delighted that he could spend so long with us, and kept him very busy!
Martin visited and spoke at several churches, including Holy Trinity, Hurdsfield, where the foundations of India Direct were laid. He also spoke at Rainow Church, at St Michael’s Church in Macclesfield,
St. Oswald’s in Bollington, and to the “Superkids” of Poynton Christian Fellowship, who having been saving their offering and donated £100 to India Direct! (You can see they are Superkids, though not all of them are wearing capes!)
Pastor Martin also proved to be an excellent house guest, cooking fresh dosa for Martin Raymond, when he stayed at his home for a few days.
Apart from visiting many churches in the Macclesfield area, Martin was also welcomed into Poynton High School, speaking at assemblies to all the students, and meeting some past and future travellers with the Poynton High School India Project. Mark (who, of course, was a member of the India Project Team) was an excellent host when Helen took Martin to visit him in Oxford.
The month went by so quickly that we forgot to keep you updated along the way. Pastor Martin went on to visit family friends in Wales, and plans to go from there to a conference in London before returning to Chennai at the beginning of August. Many thanks to Alex and Jenny for hosting Pastor Martin for most of June. We really enjoyed his visit, and so did he!
