The 4th Annual India Direct Golf Day at The Tytherington Club saw our intrepid supporters turn up to play after several days of, shall we say “inclement” weather, only to be blessed with a dry afternoon. Following a bacon butty send off, everyone played in good spirits, and returned to a feast of the famous Tytherington Club fish and chips (well, all that fresh air, you build up an appetite!).

DSCF1009There were a few glum faces at the prospect of one of Helen’s talks about the work of India Direct, but when they realised she had finished after only three minutes, there was such a  spirit of generosity in the room that the raffle and auction of a signed football shirt proceeded with much laughter. Prizes were also awarded for nearest the pin, longest drive and to the winning team.

Yet again, we are so grateful to Nikki Baker and Tony Swallow for organising the day and to everyone who played, sponsored a hole, or gave prizes. We raised around £4500, roughly what it costs us to educate all the children from both Bethel and Joy Homes. A fantastic achievement!

Thank you, one and all… here’s to next year!
