As our supporters will know, fundraising for our work is always a challenge, as we work to maintain the level of support required to maintain and run the children’s homes in India. The monthly running cost of the homes alone is £4,500, added to which there is the education costs of £5,000, maintenance of the buildings, and medical bills. We have had to consider reducing the amount we are able to provide to the homes in the past, when fundraising was not sufficient to cover these costs. Thankfully each time we have been able to continue our work and a key aim for us as a charity is to maintain financial security.
With that in mind, we have some exciting fundraising coming up, starting with a sponsored half marathon by our Sponsorship Secretary, Naomi, on 15th March in Wilmslow. She has had some wet and windy training over the winter in preparation for her first half marathon and is hugely grateful for any support with this. You can find her fundraising page here.
We are also excited to announce our first quiz night in London, hosted by our quiz master and India Direct Treasurer, Ewan. Please join us on 8th April at the George & Monkey Pub in Islington for a fantastic night of brain teasers and beers to help support our work. Please sign up on the Facebook event or email email@example.com to join us.
Our loyal supporters and golf champions of Cheshire will no doubt have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of our 2020 Golf Day, which will be held this year at Stockport Golf Club on 14th September. As ever, this is a fantastic day, including great food, even better golf and a hotly contested raffle, all proceeds of which go towards funding our work.
