Our Alumni – Satya

Satya was 10 years old when he arrived at Bethel Home from a family below the poverty line living in a rural area. His father, a labourer and an alcoholic, left the family and remarried, leaving Satya’s disabled mother unable to care for her four children.

Malnourished, weak, withdrawn, and haunted by the torments of his father, Satya took time to heal mentally and slowly recover from his experiences. He began to make friends and enjoy going to school. After he finished high school, he took additional qualifications in Photography and Film. Excelling in that field, he started working for a company, before founding his own business in his village.

Satya and his wife now have 2 children and recently built a house for their family. For this loving father and business owner, life has been completely changed by his time at Bethel Home and the opportunities the work of India Direct provided.
